You can eat waffles for breakfast in Belgium and then be eating crapes for dessert in France. You can see the ruins of the Colosseum in Rome and the Statue of David in Florence all in the same weekend. It broadens your experience by having so much within reach.
Study abroad is not only about the education you receive within the classroom, but also the experience you receive outside the classroom: learning to communicate with language barriers, exploring the history of ancient cities, standing in the aftermath of history, and viewing the miles of countryside in between it all. There are so many different cultures, languages, and cuisines. Studying abroad focuses on the experience as part of your education.
