Studying Abroad in Europe

Studying abroad is one of those once in a lifetime opportunities. Though this phrase can be overused, there are some experiences that can only be described as such. Studying abroad in Europe is one of those experiences. Anyone who has had the pleasure to do so will most likely tell you the same thing. To live in a different country for a period of time is incredible, allowing you to truly soak up the culture.

“Why Europe,” you may ask? By picking a European country to study abroad in, you are giving yourself easy access to numerous other countries to travel within. For example, if you study in Austria, you have all of Europe practically at your fingertips, or a least a train-ride away. It gives you the chance to visit so many new places right in your own backyard. Most of the continent speaks English and uses the same currency, the Euro, which is convenient.

Because the European countries are all connected, it makes traveling from county to country very easy. They have a well-built train system that makes weekend trips easy to coordinate. You can eat waffles for breakfast in Belgium and then be eating crapes for dessert in France. You can see the ruins of the Colosseum in Rome and the Statue of David in Florence all in the same weekend. It broadens your experience by having so much within reach.

Study abroad is not only about the education you receive within the classroom, but also the experience you receive outside the classroom: learning to communicate with language barriers, exploring the history of ancient cities, standing in the aftermath of history, and viewing the miles of countryside in between it all. There are so many different cultures, languages, and cuisines. Studying abroad focuses on the experience as part of your education.

Europe; the whole continent is at your fingertips. It is the perfect place to broaden your study abroad experience even more.

Over the Channel, you could be in Toulouse in just 9 to 10 hours later. In the event that sounds a little long, especially with kids in tow, then what many individuals do would be to leverage the new tools option to stop off on route. You will get good hotels in France at very reasonable prices that are usually charged over a room basis rather than per person. There many English or English speaking people owning and running occasion cottages or apartments in France, called gite. Standards of many of these gites have been upgraded over time and the best ones are more comfortable with fully fitted kitchens, nice bedrooms and plenty of bathrooms. This gives you a homely feelings away from home and with these facilities available, you could decide to cook and eat in, avoiding the restaurants. You can also pay for the area Aldi or Lidl, which stocks local products including wine and cheese at a cheaper cost than UK for the same quality. It helps you to save a lot of your budget on travelling. However, if you decide to eat at restaurants, then a leisurely lunch could be a better option than the nocturnal meal. Choose one or two items from a set menu and by doing so you would know exactly for what you are spending and a lunch time menu is always cheaper than a night time meal.
